Phnom Penh to get ready for ATF 2011

A meeting on “Information collection for good service providers to be rewarded and the preparation for Asian Tourism Forum 2011” was held on December 13, 2010 at Phnom Penh Capital Hall chaired by Mr. NUON Someth, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh Capital City from January 15 to 21, 2011 in Phnom Penh. 

The statistical planning and local business investigation in 8 Khans will be done to fairly categorize the type of business such as hotel, guesthouse and restaurants, Mr. TAING Sochet Krisna, Director of Phnom Penh Department of Tourism. This work will be done in 2 stages below: 

Stage 1: Local model tourist agents selection

Stage 2: Actual investigation on business sites in 8 Khans based on the information provided by local working group who has given 3 to 5 type of business differently.

Additionally, Wat Phnom resort will be renovated to compete with other tourism resorts in the nation. 

During this, Mr. NUON Someth strictly stressed to security strengthening and street sweeping. Moreover, the evaluation committee has to fairly judge on categorizing work of the hotel and guesthouse especially the implementation of guest book using, prohibition of drugs and inspection of weapons.
